Space Clearing and Feng Shui
Ceremonial space clearing seeks to clear the space of negative energies. Experts in this practice are typically dowsers, clergy, shamans, feng shui practitioners and healers of all kinds. They define these negative energies based on their own understanding, experience and methods. The chief aim of the practitioner is to create a clear, harmonious and balanced environment for the occupants to live in.
The other side of the coin is to invoke blessings and good wishes for a new home or building which is a ritual practiced by many cultures. The most familiar practice in the west is to have house warming parties.
Unharmonious
influences can be geopathic stress, high electromagnetic fields,
underground water and other environmental disturbances. Occupants of
homes or businesses located next to cemeteries or hospitals may be
susceptible to low moods or thoughts of loss and grief. In feng shui,
we consider the property's history, which is termed the predecessor
energy. We ask questions like, "how successful was the previous owner?"
and "have there been divorces or long term illnesses resulting in
death?" All of these feng shui factors are taken into consideration when evaluating a property.
The quality of the living environment is primarily influenced by an individual's thoughts and emotions. Feng shui addresses the home's structure and its setting, including the aesthetics and symbolism which also has an influence on the occupants well-being.
My focus has been on how to maintain a clear and balanced home with the knowledge that our thoughts and emotions fluctuate in response to daily life, which affects the living space. We have all had the experience of walking into a room after an argument has taken place and felt the tension in the room. Additionally, our homes and bodies are in a continual exchange with the man-made electro-magnetic fields of modern life.
It is best not to live in close proximity to major power grids (above or below ground) and cell phone towers. Smart homes and all the electronics that accompany modern life have created an electro-magnetic hash that experts are just now beginning to study.
The technological advances of our time are tremendous but we have to consider the impact on our health and well being. The modern feng shui consultation must include some education about the potential health risks that are a by product of our modern times.
