Decorating and Feng Shui

Feng Shui DecoratingWhat a powerful combination when these two are blended artfully, utilizing both the expertise of the interior designer and the feng Shui practioner.

The professional interior designer is trained to understand the aesthetics of a living space while the feng shui practitioner is trained in the energetics of the living space.

One may have a professionally decorated room but the feng shui is not optimum.

Conversely, an environment can have balance and harmony but may lack an aesthetic layer which would make the feng shui more auspicious.

Feng Shui RoomDecorating missteps can weaken the feng shui and lack of design concept will also weaken the feng shui.

The chief aim of feng shui decorating should be to solve weaknesses in the home by improving the quality and flow of energy throughout the living space. Once understood, the essential feng shui concepts are easy to apply to your interior design.

Feng shui bedroom decorating should focus on restful, still themes (see color and feng shui) particularly for adult bedrooms. Poor master bedroom feng shui can be one factor contributing to adult sleep problems.

Children are not as susceptible to poor sleep as adults are and their bedrooms are generally multi-functional with their toys, desks and electronics. The key is to create a restful, uncluttered sleeping area were the bed is located. You can do this by isolating the bed from the activity of the room and following the feng shui bedroom guidelines in The Feng Shui Factor.

In both cases the bed is best situated in the commanding position.
